As a Kingdom Venturer you will encounter push back against your message that there is now a New King and a New Kingdom – the Kingdom of God on Earth. The message of the gospel – the birth of Jesus, his Kingdom life and miracles, his crucifixion, his resurrection, his ascension, the coming of the Holy Spirit and our Lord’s invitation to all – this message that you proclaim will be rejected and mocked. There will be those who will want to silence you with political correctness and speech codes on college campuses.
Censorship of God’s Good News, the News that God keeps His promises, has been around since His messengers began opening their mouths. Censorship and persecution have been around for a long time. See Hebrews 11: 36-40 for a recounting of our Lord’s faithful messengers.
The Book of Acts details for us the history of the early church and for our purposes here, the Apostle Paul invoking his Roman citizenship to protect his rights. Here is an excellent article describing those first century events:
STANDING ON YOUR RIGHTS AS A CITIZEN: PAUL’S EXAMPLE

Now I don’t have to tell you that we live in a country that has become increasingly divisive under Progressives. Citizens are encouraged by our president and by others like Elizabeth Warren to wage war against class, race, social injustice, unfairness. There is a whole litany of Progressive issues that seek to be the social manipulation of ‘the Good.’
Certainly, as citizens of the Kingdom of God we have a duty to speak out against what we see as injustice surrounding us. And, we must also speak out against and stand up to the injustice being done against us by those in power over us. Unlike Paul we live in a democracy. We have voting rights and Amendments which protect us from government’s overreach. But those Amendments – those rights, including the freedom to speak the Good News about God’s Kingdom – are quickly being eroded by the current administration.
Regarding our rights being diminished let’s focus on education. Common Core education is being pushed on grade schools. Political correctness and speech codes will define what is and isn’t talked about. Speech codes are now being pushed by the Department of Education. YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT THESE THINGS:
Here are some posts which will inform and most likely horrify you. Our rights as citizens are quickly being eroded by the current administration. A Kingdom Venturer will not be able to speak the truth in love in the days ahead. Instead, you will be reprimanded, punished and reprogrammed by campus administrators and the RAs working under them. Your future – your school records – will be holding you hostage to the speech codes.

The First Amendment provides:
Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.
This is not a time for timid Timothys. The Apostle Paul knew his first century rights. He used them to protect himself as a Kingdom Venturer and more importantly the message of the Kingdom of God. Know the law and use it for God’s Kingdom.
